Orange Dream Image
Year: 2024
Medium: Acrylic Painting
Dimensions: 36" x 24"
As one of the commissioners who helped establish go-go as the official music in DC, this piece has a deep connection to the soul of the City.
Inspired by my previous series “Jazz in DC,” this painting pays homage to godfather of go-go, Chuck Brown, who passed away before he could finalize the purchase of this piece. As a native Washingtonian, this symbolizes the connection between Jazz and go-go music, hearts and pulse which lies here in the city and the rich music culture that lives so vibrantly here.
