Born to Nigerian immigrant parents, master artist and instructor Chinedu Felix Osuchukwu bridges Igbo and American cultures in his work. A Washington, DC native, he studied at Duke Ellington School of the Arts, earned a BFA from Corcoran College of Art and Design, and an MFA from MICA.
His art is featured in the Biggs Museum of American Art, Studio Museum of Harlem, DuSable Museum, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. His work has appeared in O Magazine, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Netflix’s Really Love. Internationally, he has pieces in Italy, Senegal, and Nigeria, where he was named Chief in Abuja and Igboland.
Founder of Gallery Osuchukwu and I Live to Create Studios, he empowers future artists through education. Based in DC with his wife and six children, he maintains a studio at the historic Jackson Art Center.
